ETG
Who we are

The Education Task Group (ETG) believe that a joined up approach is required in order to deliver the best possible educational facilities to serve the needs of the North Belfast community.

The ETG was set up in 2008 in response to a call by Bishop McKeown for the Saint Vincent de Paul, Holy Cross and Sacred Heart parishes to work together to develop a new vision for the educational needs of the three parishes and has been working with various interest groups and stakeholders over the last number of years in order to make this happen.

The group is made up of representatives from the local primary and post-primary schools in the parishes, parish churches and local community groups working together and with support from independent advisors and educational specialists.

We have faced many challenges along the way and the road ahead will not be easy either.  We do, however, believe in the absolute need for a local, community-based education in our areas and as such will not stop until our vision becomes a reality.

We have worked closely with the Flax Trust and believe that through their ongoing support and that of other stakeholders, we can create a Community Education Trust that will have the ability to develop the three new primary schools and one post-primary school that we are striving to achieve.
